About Atlerix.
Atlerix plans, builds and supports the technology small businesses run on. We work with companies that have outgrown spreadsheets and shared inboxes, and are nowhere near needing an IT department of their own.
Why Atlerix exists
There is a gap between what small businesses need and what the firms doing this work will take on.
The firms that build this kind of work properly are set up for large organizations. Their processes, their pricing and their timelines all assume a client with a project team and a budget to match. A company of twenty people rarely gets past the first conversation.
So smaller businesses end up with one of two outcomes. They buy nothing and keep doing the work by hand. Or they buy something assembled quickly by whoever was available, with no documentation and no thought given to what happens when it breaks or when the person who built it moves on.
Atlerix exists to give smaller companies the same standard of work, at a size that fits them.
Where our standards come from
Why the dull parts get done.
The habits behind this work were formed somewhere much larger, delivering systems in places where a mistake is expensive and an undocumented change becomes somebody else's problem to find.
What that leaves you with is unglamorous and worth having. Decisions written down while they are still fresh. Access thought through before it turns into a question. A handover that assumes the next person has never seen any of it.
None of it shows up in a demo. All of it shows up two years later, when something needs changing and whoever built it is not in the room.
Companies whose systems have not kept up.
The work itself is in good shape and what holds it together has fallen behind. Headcount matters less than that. A one-person practice with a full client list often has more to fix than a company with staff.
Work that happens away from a desk
Jobs, crews and schedules to keep straight, where the paperwork follows the work around instead of waiting at an office for someone to get back to it.
Work that is casework
Clients, files and deadlines to stay on top of, where the record of what was done matters as much as the doing of it.
How we are set up
A few practical things worth knowing before you get in touch.
We work remotely
Most of this work does not require anyone in the room. You are not paying for travel time, and we are not limited to clients within driving distance. Where being on site genuinely helps, we say so. That reach runs across Canada, the United States and further afield.
We build on what you already pay for
Most small businesses already have Microsoft 365 and use a fraction of what it covers. Buying more software is the last resort rather than the first suggestion, and you will know the cost of any license before you agree to it.
Support is offered, never required
Ongoing support is available if you want it. If you do not, everything still works, everything is documented, and you can maintain it yourself or hand it to somebody else.
Start with the part that costs you time.
Tell us which part of the business runs on habit and goodwill. The first conversation is free, and it often ends with us saying which fix to skip.
