Questions.
The things people ask before getting in touch, and a few they ask afterward.
Before we start
What people ask before the first conversation.
What does this cost?
It depends on what you need, and we would rather tell you honestly than publish a number that is wrong for your situation. Most work is quoted as a fixed price after a short conversation, so you know the total before anything starts. If your budget is tight, say so early. It is better to scope something small that works than to quote something you will not proceed with.
We are not very technical. Is that a problem?
No, and it is most of our clients. You do not need to know what any of the tools are called. You need to be able to explain how your business works, which you already can.
How do we get started?
Send a message through the contact page or call +1 647 679 0817. The first conversation is about thirty minutes, costs nothing and carries no obligation. If it turns out we are not the right fit, you will hear that in the conversation rather than in a proposal.
How long does it take?
A written plan or a spend review is usually a week or so. A focused build is a week or two. A full build with several moving parts is typically a few weeks. Larger work gets broken into stages so something useful reaches you early. You get a specific timeline in your proposal rather than a range that quietly slips.
Working together
How a project runs once it is agreed.
Do we need to buy new software?
Usually not. Most small businesses already pay for Microsoft 365 and use a fraction of what it covers. If something does need a paid license, you will know the cost before you agree to anything, never as a surprise partway through.
We already work with an IT company. Does that matter?
Not at all. Most IT providers look after computers, email and networks. We work on the systems your business runs on top of that. They are different jobs and we are happy to work alongside whoever you already use.
Do we have to sign a long contract?
No. Work is quoted and agreed per project. If you want ongoing support afterward it is offered monthly and you can stop it. Nothing locks you into a term to get a reasonable price.
Do you work with businesses outside Ontario?
Yes. Most of this work does not need anyone in the room, so we work remotely and can take on clients across Canada, the United States and further afield.
After it is done
What happens once the work is handed over.
What if we need changes later?
Expected, because businesses change. We offer ongoing support monthly if you want it, or we can handle changes as they come up. Either way everything is documented, so you are never stuck waiting on us.
Who owns what you deliver?
You do. Your domain, hosting account and Microsoft tenant are registered in your name from the start, and everything built or written inside them is yours. On handover you get the documentation and any plans as well, written for whoever picks it up next.
What happens to the information we send you?
Contact form submissions come to us by email through a form service, and we use them to reply to you. We do not sell them or add you to a mailing list. The Privacy Policy sets out what is collected and who else handles it.
